Red Chapel

last update: 15.11.2009

North Wall - Block No. 174

Stone: red quartzite (origin - from the "Red Mountains" of Djebel Akhmar, an area near Heliopolis)

Offering scene, the block shows the "King, Lord of the Two Lands, Men-kheper-Ra" (Thutmosis III) who offers two Sot-pains (as written below his hands) to the goddess Nut, the "Lady of Heaven" (left). Behind Thutmosis his royal Ka is depicted - again erroneously carrying the Horus-name of Hatshepsut.
